Does the Interrail Pass Include the Eurostar?

So does the Interrail Pass include Eurostar?
Quick Answer: Yes! (But only if you have the global pass)
Do All Types of the Interrail Pass Include Eurostar?
The Interrail Global Pass includes travel on the Eurostar, making it one of the best ways to connect the UK with mainland Europe. Whether you’re starting your Interrail adventure from London or planning to visit the UK as part of your route, the Eurostar offers a fast and convenient way to cross the English Channel (& it’s a lot of fun too!).
But unfortunately, a one country pass is not valid for use on the Eurostar.
How to Book the Eurostar with an Interrail Pass
While the Eurostar is included in the Interrail Global Pass, it does require a seat reservation, which costs between €30-€38 per journey. These reservations can sell out quickly, so make sure you book as early as possible, especially during peak seasons. You can make your reservation through the Interrail website seat reservation service.
So to clarify, your Interrail pass includes your Eurostar ticket. There is no need to buy another Eurostar ticket on top of your Interrail Pass. However, you must buy a seat reservation. For many trains in the Interrail Pass seat reservations are not required, but for the Eurostar it is essential.
Eurostar Routes Covered by Interrail
Currently, the Eurostar operates on three primary routes (but is expected to expand in the future). The current routes are:
1. London to Paris – A scenic route that takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes, making Paris a perfect first stop for your European rail adventure. The Eurostar train is spacious, and easily one of the most lovely trains I have ever been on. On the route there is a great blend of countryside scenery, and the tunnel!
2. London to Amsterdam – A direct service reaching the Dutch capital in around 4 hours, with beautiful canals and vibrant culture waiting for you. Explore our guides on what to do in Amsterdam and enjoy Amsterdams best spots!
3. London to Brussels – A journey of about 2 hours, offering easy access to Belgium, Germany, and beyond.
Planning Your Interrail Route from the UK
The Eurostar is the perfect starting point for an Interrail adventure. From your arrival city, you can continue exploring Europe with your pass. Popular Interrail routes from Eurostar destinations include:
From Paris – Travel south to the French Riviera, or connect to Switzerland, Spain, and Italy. This was the route we did, taking the train from London > Paris > Bern, Switzerland. If you are looking for inspiration on Interrail routes you can view my entire Interrail route and learn more about Interrail in my short but comprehensive Interrail guide.
From Amsterdam – Explore Germany, Denmark, or Eastern Europe with efficient train connections. If you are heading to Germany, Berlin is amazing! It is such a unique, retro, and cool place to visit, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I’m sure it will really surprise you, just like it did me! If you are interested in learning more about Berlin, and its hidden gems you can read my Top 5 Hidden Gems in Berlin (2025) blog post!
From Brussels – Head to Bruges, Luxembourg, or take a scenic train journey through the Alps. Think of Bruges as a small version of Amsterdam, with its beautiful canals! There is also a bunch of chocolate shops, horses and carriages, and more to keep you entertained.
Why Take the Eurostar on Your Interrail Trip?
You have an inbound and outbound journey – Your Interrail pass comes with an inbound and outbound journey, making the Eurostar the perfect option for leaving and entering the country. At the end of the day you have paid for those inbound, and outbound journeys so why take a plane!?
Time-Saving – High-speed rail allows you to reach mainland Europe quickly, maximising your travel time, and allowing you to arrive in a beautiful new city!
Eco-Friendly – Train travel produces far fewer emissions than flying, making your Interrail trip more sustainable. With climate change being such a major concern, and transportation having significant consequences on the climate, this is a way you can help do your bit for the environment.
Comfortable & Convenient – No airport queues—just sit back, relax, and enjoy your journey under the Channel! We simply walked into St Pancras, walked to the Eurostar line, went through security and grabbed a snack and waited for our train to arrive. Super easy! However, make sure you get there with plenty of time. The Interrail website recommends allowing 45-90 minutes for border and bag checks, and the ticket gates close 30 minutes before the departure of your train! So make sure to get there with ample time (we did this but we were then sat for ages, but I personally wouldn’t ignore it, just take a book).
So, Yes the Interrail Pass Does Include the Eurostar!
If you’re planning an Interrail trip that includes both the UK and mainland Europe, the Eurostar is a practical part of your journey. Make sure to book your seat reservations in advance, and enjoy a seamless, scenic, and stress-free travel experience.
