Currency requirements vary across African countries. For instance, in South Africa, the local currency is the South African Rand (ZAR), while in Kenya, it’s the Kenyan Shilling (KES). Many countries accept major international credit cards, but it’s advisable to carry some local currency for smaller establishments or rural areas. Always check the specific currency requirements of your destination before travelling. Using a bank account like Revolut can also help with change in currency but beware that not all African countries support these types of card.
